Plans and limits
Three tiers differ in exactly three ways: how much content your account can hold, how many messages it can answer per month, and whether the widget carries our badge. Everything else is the same on every plan.

Content credits
One credit is 500 words of source text. Credits are shared across every project the account owns.
They measure capacity, not usage: the figure counts the content you are currently holding, it does not reset each month, and deleting a source returns its credits. On Free that is 100 credits, or about 50,000 words of content in total.
Running out does not break an existing bot. It stops new content from being indexed, and affected sources are marked over limit until you free some allowance or upgrade.
Messages
A message is one question your visitor asks and the reply they get back — the exchange, counted once, not once each way. Unlike credits, this is a flow: it resets every billing period.
A question we can’t answer still counts. Finding out that nothing in your content matches costs the same search as finding something that does, so the fallback reply is a message like any other. Questions the widget blocks outright as prompt-injection attempts are the one exception, and are never charged.
When an account has spent its allowance, the widget stays on the page but replies with a neutral “temporarily unavailable” message. It deliberately says nothing about plans or billing — that message renders on your site, to your visitors, and your commercial relationship with us is not their business.
That can happen part-way through a conversation, not only to someone arriving fresh. Watch the meter on your usage page if you are running close to your allowance.
Limits that apply on every plan
- Message length: 300 characters per question. Real questions do not run this long; the cap keeps a pasted essay from blowing up the cost of a single request.
- Rate limit, per visitor: 10 messages per minute.
- Rate limit, per project: 60 messages per minute across all visitors. This is the real ceiling, and the one that protects you from someone hammering your bot.
- Conversation memory: the last 10 messages of the current session are carried into each new answer.
- Retrieval: the 8 closest pieces of your content are considered for each answer.
- URLs per ingest: 500. Split a larger site across several ingests, or filter out the sections you do not need.
- Uploaded document size: 10 MB per file.
Billing
Paid plans are monthly or yearly subscriptions; a year up front costs ten months. Everything is priced and charged in US dollars, wherever you are — there is no regional pricing. Payments are handled by Paddle on a credit or debit card, and we never see your card details. See the refund policy for cancellations, and the terms for the rest.
Free is a signup, not a purchase. No card is required to start.
