Refund and cancellation policy

Last updated 4 August 2026

The short version

  • The Free plan is free forever, with no card required. Use it to decide whether TeklTalk works for your site before you pay anything.
  • Cancel a paid plan at any time, in one click, from your dashboard.
  • Cancelling keeps your plan running until the period you have already paid for ends. Nothing is switched off early.
  • Because of the two points above, fees already charged are not refunded — except in the billing-error cases below, which we always refund.

Try before you pay

Every account starts on Free, which indexes up to 100 pages and serves 50 conversations a month, at no cost and with no time limit. It is the same crawler, the same index, and the same widget as the paid plans — only the ceilings differ.

That is deliberate: you can see exactly how TeklTalk answers questions about your own content before any money changes hands. It is also why we do not operate a refund window on top of it.

Cancelling

Cancel from your dashboard at any time. There is no cancellation fee, no notice period, and nothing to email us about.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your plan and its limits stay in place for the rest of the period you have paid for, and the account moves to Free when that period ends. If you cancel a yearly plan in month two, you keep the paid plan for the remaining ten months.

Your projects, indexed pages, and conversation history are not deleted when a subscription ends. Usage is capped at the Free limits from that point, and you can resubscribe at any time.

Refunds

Subscription fees are charged in advance for a period of service, and are non-refundable once that period has begun — including where you cancel mid-period, or where the service was used less than you expected. We do not pro-rate a partial period.

We will refund, in full and without argument, in these cases:

  • A duplicate charge — you were billed more than once for the same period.
  • A charge with no plan behind it — money left your account but the plan was never applied.
  • A charge after cancellation — a renewal was collected after you cancelled.
  • An unauthorized charge — you did not authorize the mandate.
  • We terminated your paid account without cause — we refund the unused part of the period, as set out in the terms.

Beyond these, we may still refund at our discretion. If a genuine fault on our side left your widget unable to answer for a meaningful stretch of a paid period, write to us and we will make it right — normally by extending the period or refunding it.

How to request one

Email support@tekltalk.com from the address on your account, with the payment id from your Razorpay receipt and a line on what went wrong.

We acknowledge within two business days and decide within five. An approved refund is issued to the original payment method — the same card, UPI handle, or bank account that was debited; we cannot send it anywhere else. Once issued, the money typically reaches you in five to seven business days, depending on your bank.

If a payment failed but your bank shows the amount debited, it is usually an authorization hold that reverses on its own within five to seven business days. Please do not pay again — email us with the payment id and we will check whether anything was actually collected.

Price changes and downgrades

A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for, and we give at least 30 days’ notice before one takes effect. Downgrading to a lower paid plan takes effect at the next renewal, not immediately, and does not generate a refund for the difference.

Chargebacks

Please contact us before raising a dispute with your bank. A chargeback costs us a fee and freezes the account while the bank investigates, and almost every case is something we would simply have fixed by email.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under applicable consumer law, which apply regardless of what is written here.
